With wide-ranging experience in brand strategy, visual and verbal identity, communications, and implementation for top-tier national and international clients, John brings a proven, client-centred approach to brand consultation, graphic design, and project management. Prior to co-founding Hark Ideas in 2010, John held progressive positions with Interbrand Canada over 12 years, where he fostered client relationships, coordinated engagement teams, and directed projects for clients in Canada, the U.S., and around the world.

The foundation of John’s experience is an extensive background as a hands-on corporate and investor communications designer. Previously a senior designer and art director with Toronto graphic design firms, John also worked for several years with a respected New York firm designing logos, annual reports, brochures, and other corporate literature for major U.S. clients.

John earned a Masters in Communications Design at Pratt Institute, and holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University. He is a regular guest lecturer in design management and brand identity.
